Tya, Senior Consultant, Consulting
Since joining the Sustainability group at Cyril Sweett in
2006, I have been able to form my own niche within a
supportive team environment. My team leaders recognised
the strengths of my diverse background in urban
sustainability research, and supported me in developing
my technical understanding of sustainability issues
relating to buildings and construction. I have been
given the opportunity to work on a wide range of
projects, and the freedom to pursue the areas which
interest me the most. This has allowed me to shape my
own career direction within the company.
One of my areas of choice is to assist house builders
meet sustainability requirements in design competitions
for residential sites. Through leading on such projects,
I have become a first point of contact for clients
looking to strengthen their bids. I joined Cyril Sweet
at Consultant level, and have since been promoted to
Senior Consultant. Cyril Sweett’s appraisal process
provides clear markers for career advancement, ensuring
achievements are recognised and appropriate training
provided.

Diversity, challenging, visionary, rriendly and supportive

Cyril Sweett since joining in December 2004. The main
attraction of working for Cyril Sweett is the opportunity
to take on challenging roles and responsibility on various
multi-million pound, high profile projects with prestigious
clients. Cyril Sweett has been supportive of my career
development by sponsoring my further studies in MSc

privilege to work with a team of dynamic and talented work
colleagues. Last but not least, there is never a dull moment
at Cyril Sweett. Everyone is committed and focused on their
projects and daily challenges, but they also like to have
fun with a variety of social activities, work related
functions and charity work.

Nick, Assistant Project Manager, Glasgow
I joined the company in August 2005 moving from a surveying
background. My main motivation for leaving my previous employer
was to join a company where I could become involved in high profile
commercial projects. In the two years plus I have been here I have not
been disappointed.
I have been involved in a diverse range of sectors ranging
from Industrial to Retail, including leisure and PFI
schools. My contractual and commercial knowledge has
grown as a result of continued exposure to key clients
and major contractors.
During my time here I have steadily progressed from
assisting the Senior Project Manager to acting as PM
on my own projects to which I have day to day
responsibility.
As well as assisting me with 'on the job training' the
company has been supportive of my intention achieve a
Project Management specific qualification and I hope to
receive an MBA in Construction & Real Estate next year.
