When will I start?
We recruit throughout the year and we are flexible over start dates. You may want to defer entry and take some time out before embarking on your career with us, or you may be keen start immediately.

Where can I work?
50% of our graduates are London based and we have opportunities throughout our other UK offices too.

How many graduates do you recruit a year?
This year (2007/2008) we expect to recruit approximately 55 graduates across all sectors and the four service areas of quantity surveying, building surveying, project management and consulting. The majority of graduate positions are within the quantity surveying area of the business.

Will I be able to move around the organisation?
We strongly believe that people can have a long and fulfilling career with Cyril Sweett.  As your career progresses there is nothing to stop you applying for opportunities in other parts of the business or in other offices either in the UK or around the world. Our international operations are expanding rapidly so there will be a resultant increase in international vacancies.

Do you offer work placements or work experience during a year out?
Yes we do. We are committed to the development of trainees who have either just completed their A-Levels or need a sandwich placement as part of their university course.

Do you appoint people without degrees?
Yes we accept candidates following their A-Levels.

What are your degree requirements for graduate applicants?
A minimum of a 2:1 degree in any subject.

Am I going to be disadvantaged applying from a non-construction background?
We consider applicants from all academic backgrounds. However, for some positions within our consulting division, it is preferable if you have a construction related degree or some relevant experience.

Can I apply if I do not have an EU work permit?
Yes you can. If you are offered a position we will make the work permit application on your behalf.

What do I do if I require assistance at interview, due to a disability?
Please inform our HR department and they will ensure that our Health & Safety team make the necessary arrangements to support your needs throughout the recruitment process.

Are you a RICS accredited training firm?
Yes we are. Once our graduates have acquired some experience they typically complete the APC for RICS membership or a project management qualification such as the APMP or PRINCE 2.
