New Focus for Cyril Sweett in London

Cyril Sweett today announced two key changes to its senior management team, which will take effect immediately:-

Andrew Hemsley, Managing Director of Consulting, has been appointed as Regional Operations Director for London, where he will focus his attention on building an integrated construction consultancy offer in the region. The role was held by Dean Webster, also the Chief Executive Officer and Andrew’s appointment will mean that Dean will be able to focus his time on driving the future growth and performance of the company across all UK regions and internationally.

Andrew launched the Consulting business unit in 2000 and has grown it into a 60-strong team offering specialist skills to clients on a number of complex projects both in the public and private sector. The Consulting business today offers a variety of specialisms such as legal services, sustainability, risk analysis, due diligence and whole life performance.

Dean Webster, Chief Executive Officer, comments, “The company continues to grow at an impressive but sustainable rate now employing 600 people in the UK with access to a further 2,500 across the world. This management realignment will enable me to develop our goal of being a £100million business by 2010, in addition to building our reputation for offering the very best quality of service to our clients around the world. As a consequence of our current size and planned growth, I need to devolve responsibility for the London region. Andrew’s responsibility will be to develop our London regional business by improving our integrated approach across the cost consultancy, project management, consulting and building surveying business units so that we offer our clients a truly value added service.”

Alastair Bloore, the Deputy Managing Director of Consulting, has been promoted to Managing Director of Consulting. Alastair joined the consulting business in 2002, working closely with Andrew Hemsley over the past four years which will mean a seamless transition of responsibilities. Alastair Bloore will be responsible for continuing the growth of the consulting business unit and the development of its management consultancy offer.

Andrew Hemsley added, "Alastair’s promotion reflects the significant contribution he has made to the Company over several years and I am delighted to welcome him to the position. The consulting business is extremely healthy and continues to grow at a steady rate as more clients are looking for a more rounded service and require a range of complimentary consultancy skills. I am sure Alastair will succeed in growing the business even further.”
