On Thursday 13th September 2007, Cyril Sweett, the Leeds based construction and property consultancy hosted its first charity race night to raise money for two local charities.
Over 150 guests in the property world raised over £3,000 for The Friends of Alfie Martin a local charity which raises money for neonatal intensive care transportation and facilities systems for West Yorkshire’s ambulances and secondly CRASH, a construction and property industry charity for the homeless.
The night held at Leeds United started with a Pimms reception followed by excellent food and some very closely fought races. Amongst the prizes presented by the legendary Eddie Gray were a trip to Mark Campion’s stables and stud farm, a flight simulator day and magnum of champagne.
David Dodd, Cyril Sweett Regional Director, said
“We are really pleased to have hosted this event, it’s a fantastic achievement and is testament to the hard work of our sponsors and team who helped organise the event. A great night was had by all whilst raising money for the two charities”.
Fiona Martin, founder of ‘The Friends of Alfie Martin’ said
“The evening was a great success and enjoyed by all and on behalf of The Friends of Alfie Martin we would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to Cyril Sweett for their support and for helping us to make a difference to neonatal intensive care facilities within the region’s hospitals”.
