Cyril Sweett, the leading international construction and property consultancy is pleased to announce that the E4D&G consortium (Education for Dumfries and Galloway), has achieved Financial Close on the 30 year, £108million Smarter Schools project for Dumfries and Galloway Council. The E4D&G consortium is led by Cyril Sweett Investments (15%) and Amey Ventures (85%). Cyril Sweett's total funding commitment to the project is approximately £1.6m.
Under the contract the consortium will design, construct, finance and operate ten new schools at Castle Douglas, Heathhall, Kirkcudbright, Lockerbie, Wallace Hall, Thornhill, Moffat and Dumfries, and a major extension and refurbishment at Stranraer Academy. Construction will start in January 2008.

To date Cyril Sweett has provided bid direction and management services, cost consultancy, sustainability advice and transaction closing support. Going forward Cyril Sweett will undertake the roles of Employers Agent, CDM Co-ordinator and SPV Director.
